NOELIA'S CLASS
CHAINED STRATA
You are about to explore movement, rhythm, and unique connections through polymer clay!
In her class, Noelia Contreras invites you to create a contemporary necklace where every link, layer, and detail becomes part of the final composition. You will explore how different shapes and sizes of clay affect the movement of a chain, and how clever construction and assembly can transform a piece of jewellery into a dynamic, playful design full of personality.
The necklace will feature a central geometric piece created from thin overlapping layers, shaped with clean cuts, colours, textures, patterns, and carefully placed details. Through the process, you will learn how small design choices can influence the visual rhythm of the piece.
Noelia will guide you through construction, assembly, and creative problem-solving, encouraging you to think about jewellery as a moving structure with its own character.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
During Noelia’s full-day class, you will learn and discover how to:
-
design and create functional chains made entirely from polymer clay
-
explore different link shapes, sizes, and proportions
-
understand how geometry affects movement and balance
-
build a central piece from overlapping clay layers
-
work with colour, texture, patterns, and cut-out details
-
design connection systems that add movement and dynamism
-

NOELIA'S ARTWORK
For many years, Noelia also ran a creative store, organised events in Spain, and brought Spanish polymer clay artists together. Although there were moments when she stepped away while also working as a computer programmer and raising her daughter, polymer clay never really left her, and now she returns with unique concepts and fresh perspectives.
Her passion lies in inventing thoughtful and intriguing ways to connect polymer clay pieces together, and she will bring exactly this kind of new class to Polymer Week 2026, with lots of space for exploration, experimentation, and discovering new possibilities within this medium.
